According to research, in the wake of COVID-19, over 47 million women/girls were living in a state of poverty in 2021(1).
Data also shows that in the past 3 years, the number of orphaned, surrendered or abandoned children has risen by almost 25% (2).
This staggering data points to a harsh reality – that there is a rise in numbers among the downtrodden women and children (especially those that are in financial hardship).
That said, on the one hand, there are several NGOs that have the mandate to help these women and children. However, they have a huge gap preventing them from realizing their objectives – a lack of finances.
On the other hand, there are those who want to share their finances with those who need monetary support. However, they do not know how to and where to pass on their funds.
We, at Aasha Ke Pankh Foundation Trust (AKP) are determined to bridge this gap. We exist to meld the objectives of the donor and the NGO with the needs of the oppressed.
